I am a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Center for Decision Research, Computational Social Science, and Program in Behavioral Economics Research, Cognitive Science.
I study dynamic social minds: the interplay between (micro) individual decision processes and (macro) social structures in the field of social cognition [CV]. My recent research explores various aspects of human stereotyping; its historical antecedents, cognitive mechanisms, and societal consequences. Despite being a century-old puzzle, advances in data-driven observational analysis, computational cognitive modeling, large-scale behavioral experiments, and comparative analyses with large language models are now offering exciting new insights.
Prospective students and postdocs: You can learn more about my current and future research by reading [research] statement, and about my mentorship in [teaching] statement. If you would like to work with me, please take a look at publications, and feel free to send me an email.
